Hope everyone will have a great time this summer. I hope everyone will find some time each day to read. I am enjoying the Kindle you all chipped in to get me. I’ve downloaded several sci-fi and mystery novels. The first one I’ve started is a science fiction novel where it is 2347 and children are sent to the past to a History Camp where they have to learn how people in the past lived so that they will appreciate the time they are living in.
I hope you all will come blog about once a week and tell us what you are reading and doing.

My summer is great so far I have been going to the pool daily and this saturday I am going to the beach in destin flordia

Hey, my summer has started with a bad start. I have been in the pool daily not for fun but for swim team. But now I get a couple days off because I have a very bad case of swimmers ear. So I am not allowed to swim for the next 2 or 3 days. This will give me some time to sleep in, relax, and hang with friends.

Hi Nicole! I am sorry to hear you have swimmers ear. I know how painful that can be. I hope you enjoy your couple of days off from the water. You didn’t mention anything about having time to read
I hope that you are finding time to read whether you are in the pool or not. :O I know Durham wants you guys to read a fiction and a non-fiction book. What have you choosen to read in the non-fiction genre?

Glad to hear you two are getting together….however I’m not surprised
To answer your question, no I don’t know who will be in my class next year. Teachers usually don’t get their class list until we arrive the week before school starts. I do know that fourth grade classes will be about 24 students per class….a little lower than what we had last year. So that’s good.
I’ve been busy planning for fourth graders. If you’ve gone to our website, you’ll notice it says 4th Grade under my name….it seems really strange to me since I’ve taught fifth grade for eleven years. But I really think change is good so I am looking forward to doing new things. Just like you guys will be experiencing a new grade level….so will I!
It’s been fun planning some knew units in writing and trying to find new novels to read out loud! My biggest stress is having to set up/decorate a new room. Maybe I’ll be calling on you girls to come in and help me set up in August?

So i was reading the posts for the Native american stuff. It seems like the kids in your class this year realy do like you how i liked you last year. Keep up the great work. And also keep those kids proud of you like i did last year and by the way, i was proud of you through the whole year.
I wish I was in your 4th grade class this year because it seems like this year could turn out to be a very fun, fun year. For your students and me and especialy you.

Sorry I did not post this summer in June I went to My home state in New York for three weeks it was lots of fun. Mrs.Thompson if you taught my sister I think you would love her she reads a lot and when I say that I mean too much! One night she went to bed at page 65 but when I woke up she’s reading and on page 344 it ridiculous! She only reads like that when its a good book she is reading Beautiful Creatures have you ever read that and is it good I saw how thick it was when my sister was reading and it was like really long. Your best and awesomest student ALEEHA
